28th May 2005 Windsurfing: Blithfield Wind Direction: sw Wind Stength: F 5 - 7 Surf / Sea State: Messy chop Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Cloudy, some sun Max Speed: Distance Covered: Some big holes in the wind at first but nicely powered on 5.3 in the gusts. Then it ramped up a bit with joined up gusts, and 5.3 was OK for hanging on but too much to gybe. Should have come in and changed down but I did'nt want to stop. 5.3 Aerial much improved with extra outhaul, made the sail more manageable. Eventually came in for lunch and rigged 4.7. The holes had reappeared by then, but it was still ok. Managed to make quite a few gybes in the choppy conditions, almost planing out. A few big wipe outs on the gybes as well when caught by the gusts. |
